Safe Futures Canada in partnership with SMcConsulting has identified a gap in service to youth within Dufferin County. Youth are desperately in need of access to immediate one : one counselling and therapeutic groups as they frequently struggle with stress, anxiety, depression, unmanageable behaviours, lack of social skills and often have had contact with the law. Providing youth with the opportunity to talk with someone during a time of crisis who is supportive and non-judgmental, will in turn narrow that gap in service. Parents have also identified a need for groups and workshops in the community. They are often eager to learn more about their children and access resources to assist them in their parenting.
